One month of you – Welcome to the World Little Lawrence

A month into life with you and I don’t think either me or you dad can quite believe that you are actually here. Welcome to the world little Lawrence, our little boy Finn πŸ³πŸ’™

Born on 14th January 2020 at 00.16am just 2 days past your due date. Carrying you and bringing you into the world has been one of my proudest moments to date, I will never forget πŸ’™

Following what I consider to be a positive birth experience, it was an eventful first few days in hospital, but you proved just how resilient and brave you are our little trooper.

Bringing you home after those challenging first 5 days of life was the best feeling, it had felt like a lifetime since I’d left to bring you home!

You’ve settled in so well, better than we could have ever anticipated and the family have loved coming to see you for cuddles and giving you wonderful gifts.

This first month has been a mix of settling into home life, recovering and taking baby steps into taking you out into the world which you have taken in your stride!

We have now ventured out of the house to register your birth, and to take several walks. The fresh air has felt so good and has brought about some normality thankfully.

But I am happy to say that we are both now discharged by the midwives team too and you are coming on leaps and bounds πŸ’™

You are a very content little boy, seeing your little dimples and smirks are the best, especially when you gummy smile (yet to be quick enough to capture that) and I can’t wait till they are the real deal and not just wind!

I’m slowly getting there myself too, in a few more weeks I’m hoping to be fully healed and confident in myself again. But for now I am proud and amazed by what my body had managed to do not only in these 9 months of you, but how it is recovering in the last month.

You are starting to grow into your bigger boy clothes now so it’s not always sleep suits anymore, and we’ve even ventured out to visit your great grandparents at their home.

We can’t believe how strong you are and how well you are developing. You’ve now had your first tummy time and its evident you will be exploring in no time!

We just adore you little man, and we hope that we are doing the very best for you. We’ve waited a long time for you and even now when we take you out in your pram for a walk, we catch ourselves staring down at you in disbelief – our little family πŸ‘ͺ❀

We cant wait to see what the coming months bring and just how you will grow and develop. Our next steps are to get braver by taking you out and feeding/changing you in public spaces.

So far we have ventured to one of our favourite coffee shops…next the coast πŸŒŠπŸ’™ wish us luck!

Until next time,

The Lawrence’s xx
